The First Traders Revealed at Glossop Market Hall

The First Traders Revealed at Glossop Market Hall

The transformation of Glossop Market Hall marks a defining moment for the town, and we’re thrilled to be part of this exciting project. This November, the historic building will reopen following a major redevelopment led by High Peak Borough Council, with operations and curation by The Hospitality Collective.

As a business rooted in hospitality and independent enterprise, we are proud to be leading this next chapter. Our vision for Glossop Market Hall has always been about more than restoration. It is about reimagining what a modern market can be: a place that celebrates local identity, nurtures independent businesses and brings people together through food, craft and culture.

Now, we are delighted to introduce the first traders who will help bring this vision to life, three exceptional names that embody the quality, creativity and community spirit that will define Glossop Market Hall.

Forest Distillery

Forest Distillery will bring a new era of craft spirits to Glossop. Known across the UK for its award-winning small-batch gin and whisky, the brand embodies the authenticity, craftsmanship and connection to local places that sit at the heart of this project.

From its origins at the Cat & Fiddle, the UK’s highest-altitude distillery, Forest has become a symbol of small-scale excellence and respect for the landscape that inspires its products. Its arrival in Glossop is the creation of something entirely new – Glossop Distillery, developed exclusively for the Market Hall.

Visitors will soon be able to experience the process of spirit-making first-hand through a live, working distillery within the hall, complete with tasting sessions and opportunities to meet the makers. Alongside their celebrated Forest Gin and Forest Whisky, the team will introduce a line of products crafted for Glossop’s community.

Their presence is a statement about what this Market Hall stands for: quality, originality and a deep connection between craft and community.

Hello Oriental

Hello Oriental, one of Manchester’s most talked-about names in contemporary East Asian dining, will also join the Market Hall line-up. Their arrival brings a vibrant new culinary dimension to Glossop, showcasing bold, authentic flavours drawn from East Asia’s rich street food traditions.

Visitors will find a menu that balances authenticity with creativity – from fluffy bao buns and steaming bowls of pho to the Korean fried chicken and dim sum that have made Hello Oriental such a popular destination in Manchester. In addition to their food offering, the team will open a convenience-style space in the Market Hall, selling bubble teas, snacks and premium East Asian ingredients for home cooking.

Hello Oriental’s move to Glossop marks a natural evolution of their brand. It’s an opportunity to share their passion for food and culture with a new audience while becoming part of a wider community of independent traders. For Glossop, it brings global flavour to a space deeply rooted in local life.

B&V Doggo General Store

Completing the first wave of announcements is B&V Doggo General Store, a much-loved independent brand built around quality, design and care for our four-legged companions.

Founded in Altrincham, B&V has earned a loyal following across the North West for its carefully sourced, eco-friendly range of treats, toys and accessories. Every item they stock reflects the same philosophy – that practicality and style can go hand in hand, and that dogs deserve the same attention to quality as their owners.

At Glossop Market Hall, B&V will bring their signature mix of artisan products, UK-made goods and thoughtful design to a new audience. Their arrival adds a distinct layer of personality to the Market Hall, reinforcing its mission to be a place that celebrates lifestyle, creativity and community in equal measure.

Curating Independent Excellence

For The Hospitality Collective, Glossop Market Hall represents much more than an operational project. It’s a curated environment that brings together people, ideas and businesses that share a commitment to quality and authenticity.

Our approach has been to identify partners who not only offer exceptional products or experiences but also embody the values we believe define great hospitality: care, connection and creativity. The traders announced today are the first step in building a marketplace that feels alive with character and possibility.

Glossop’s independent scene has long been one of its greatest strengths, and the Market Hall is designed to build on that foundation. By supporting businesses with strong local roots and regional reputations, we’re creating a destination that reflects both the town’s heritage and its forward momentum.

A Space Reimagined for the Future

The redevelopment of Glossop Market Hall forms part of a wider investment in the town’s historic halls, an effort to preserve their architectural integrity while adapting them for modern use. The result is a space that respects its history while embracing the flexibility and innovation today’s market traders and visitors expect.

Within the new layout, traders benefit from upgraded facilities and adaptable spaces, while visitors can enjoy a cleaner, brighter and more engaging environment. The design allows the Market Hall to function not just as a trading space, but as a platform for events, pop-ups, collaborations and seasonal celebrations.

For The Hospitality Collective, projects like this exemplify our belief that hospitality can drive regeneration. When designed with purpose, spaces like Glossop Market Hall become catalysts for growth, creativity and community engagement.

Collaboration at the Core

The success of Glossop Market Hall has been built on strong collaboration between public and private partners. High Peak Borough Council’s vision for the town’s future, combined with our experience in hospitality management and operational strategy, has created a shared foundation for long-term success.

Our role has been to ensure that the Market Hall operates not just as a venue but as a sustainable business model, one that supports independent traders, attracts footfall and keeps Glossop’s town centre thriving. By blending commercial strategy with the emotional intelligence of hospitality, we’ve aimed to create something that feels both functional and inspiring.

Looking Ahead

As the countdown to November continues, more traders will be announced in the coming weeks, each chosen for their ability to add depth and diversity to the Market Hall’s offering.

Richard Walker, Managing Director of The Hospitality Collective, said:

“We’re thrilled to announce our first three traders, each of whom represents the spirit of the Market Hall, independent, creative, and community-focused. This is just the start, and we’ll be making more announcements soon. Glossop can look forward to a place that truly reflects the energy of the town and the quality of the businesses within it.”

The reopening of Glossop Market Hall is the beginning of a new chapter for the town, one that brings together the best of its past and future.

For The Hospitality Collective, it stands as a proud example of what we do best: creating environments where hospitality, commerce and culture can thrive side by side.
